Incorporation of Traditional Features

For one of our recent projects it was decided to incorporate an internal traditional feature, to ensure the natural flow of the existing structure was not diminished. The existing structure makes use of oak trusses and they are prominent in the main building. It was felt by the client and architect that by adding a similar feature to the new summer room would enhance its aesthetic value and ensure the new summer room did not dramatically differ from the main building.

Therefore reclaimed timber trusses were produced and installed as shown, the truss is independent of our structure and is not required to support the U-Roof system. By incorporating features such as these along with a natural stone outer skin this particular project shows how modern methods of construction can be used to enhance a building of any age and material type.

U-Roof Brief

Every construction is unique in scope, but process is systemically applied to each construction project.

We seek to get involved early in the design phase so that we can manage the project more efficiently, provide effective building solutions, and identify challenges early on to mitigate design changes after construction commencement.
